Hurricane season officially begins on Friday, June 1st. It is wise for those of us living in coastal areas to prepare in advance for the potential storms to ensure that our homes are best protected if and when a storm threatens our beach property.

I had the distinct pleasure of representing Dave and Fran Dennis with the purchase of their home in Sandbridge Beach. They purchased a traditional classic beach cottage built in the 1960′s. I know they will enjoy working on this home and making it their own.

The majority of the country is currently experiencing one of the largest heat waves in recorded history this week, with temperatures in the 100s and heat indexes above 110. Sandbridge is definitely not excluded from the heat wave, with temperatures around 100 degrees and over 70% humidity making spending time outdoors very rough and dangerous. [...]

  The Sandbridge Beach community recieved some postive news this week regarding the Sand Replenishment. Representative Scott Rigell and the House of Representatives approved the Energy and Water Development Appropriations Act. Within the Act, Rigell included wording that would remove the federal barrier that had restricted the Army Corps of Engineers from accepting the necessary funds [...]

As of now, the city is offering $15 million to the federal government to replenish the Sandbridge beaches, but the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has said its agreement with the city doesn’t allow it to accept the city’s money.
